Welcome & Introductions Thread

Please say hi & introduce yourself here! :waving_hand: Disclose as much, or as little as you feel comfortable. We welcome pseudonyms if that’s your thing!

I’ll go first! I’m Ally, I live on the Central Coast of NSW and also spend a lot of time in the Northern Rivers. I’ve two teen sons. Over the last ~3-5 years I’ve become increasingly ‘collapse aware’. (Although like many I’ve questioned the status quo from day dot!) I stepped back from a FT work-load in 2025 to embark on various learning endeavours such a permaculture, deep ecology, resilience & collapse, community care etc. I loved them all, and met great folk but we all went our own ways. Those experiences led me to creating Kinterra as an online gathering place to discuss the challenges of our current predicament. I don’t know where this journey will lead me, but thank you for being here. :sparkles:

Hi, I’m Dave Burrows. I live at the Narara Ecovillage and work with John Seed on various things related to both Deep Ecology Experience weekends at the Ecovoillage and the still-developing Institute for Deep Ecology. I’m also writing a biography of John with my godson, Harry Bassett. Apart from DE, I am convenor of a charity at the Ecovillage, Narara Eco Living Network, whose major current activity is an Arboretum of trees that will support birds such as Powerful Owls which require tree hollows that need 200-300 years to develop. I’m on the Board of Regen Sydney and participate in several of their activities in regenerating Sydney as a place to live joyfully within a generation. I’m on the fundraising committee of Rising Tide and support them as the most important public movement for environmental action in Australia. Within the Ecovillage, I work on the mowing and nursery teams, look after the citrus grove and host tours and visits from various groups. I am supposedly retired after 35 years of working on HIV/AIDS community action in 71 countries.
