New to this forum, and saying hello!

Hey folks - just saying hello, after being introduced to this forum this morning. I’m based in nipaluna, lutrawita - palawa-kani country. I facilitate deep ecology work, and also practice DE as a personal way of being in the world. Another role I play is holding a weekly online deep ecology gathering, 9.30am AEST on Wednesdays. Let me know if that’s something you’d like to hear more about. I sometimes pop up at Vic/NSW events as well, but will only travel slowly by EV these days, so all travel is intentional (as it should be).

Hey Philip, so good to meet you, thanks for stopping by! Great to have the wisdom of DE facilitators here in Kinterra. As you may have gathered, it’s very early days for Kinterra. We are but a seed of an idea. But it’s my desire to hold this space for people, as I know there are others who seek to connect in a safe, trusted space. Please feel free to start a conversation or two, there will be more people joining as we go.

In DE related tales, I have a vision for a cosmic walk in my garden! I’ve started with a 50m rope (which took me a very long time to measure out!) but think it would be even better on a bigger scale! With plants, rocks or other features as the markers. My teens have been really drawn to it – and we haven’t even done it properly yet. I’m hoping one of them will write some music to accompany it :sparkles:

Hey Ally - will do! One of my favourite forms is poetry - I’d be happy to share something there and see if anyone is interested? I’m also curating an informal resource collection I call ‘The Poetry of Deep Ecology’ - it’s the poetry that facilitators tell me they most often use when doing DE workshops. John S. loves to cite Drew Dellinger, for eg.

I love the idea of a cosmic walk in the garden! It reminds me of the Gaia Walk that Peter Adams created at Windgrove (Roaring Beach, TAS). You’ll find old references to that online, but he’s not updating his site anymore, more’s the pity.

Hi Philip, good tomeet you here. Great idea for a poetry section on this site if you’re able to curate it. A woman at last weekend’s DE in Narara wrote 2 poems that might be usefully included. Cheers

Hi Dave - likewise. Yes, very happy to curate a poetry thread. Can I set that up, or does that need to be admin?

Anyone can start a thread – the more the merrier. Simply click “New Topic” in the top left hand corner. A poetry thread is an awesome idea! :sparkles:

Hi everyone - Andrew Moriarty (AKA Peace Walker) here saying hi - I have just finished a wonderful suite of courses including DE with John and Hector last year, a vision fast with Animas Valley Institute (where I received my soul name from mystery) and most recently the last PDC to be run by co- originator David Holmgren down in Daylesford. Very keen to keep the momentum flowing and contribute to this community - many blessings!

Hi @peacewalker I indulged in a run of courses last year that included a PDC (with Robyn Francis in Nimbin), Deep Ecology with John, and also a 9-wk Resilience & Collapse Acceptance course. It was a fabulous & transformative year! The PDC with David would’ve been amazing! I saw him & Su recently in public and had to get a selfie with them, lol. That is my equivalent of a celebrity

I’m so glad to have you here – and really appreciate that you are keen to keep the momentum going and contribute to this space. I think we can co-create something special. Feel free to start any new topics – and share what you’re pondering at this point in time & space!

I really enjoyed working with Hector at Camp Eureka in November last year. Not quite the same, but that did put me in mind of Interplay. Last year, Skye Etherington hosted a thing down at Tathra called Deep Earth Play. Facilitators were Biff and Jaye. Highly recommended for a somatic version of deep ecology.
