To the In-Betweeners (Poetry by Astrid Nygaard)

Kinterrans  I want to share a beautiful poem by a newly-made friend of mine (through the wonderful web that is Substack), Astrid Nygaard.

Please check out her Substack here - she is an excellent writer on the felt, natural sense of change within oneself and how it relates to the broader systems change in humanity.

Full post with this poem is here: To the In-Betweeners - by Astrid Nygaard

To the In-Betweeners,

To the ones who are standing in that tender, messy place,
where what was has not yet loosened its hold,
and what comes has not yet shown its full shape.

Know this:
Your veins are growing.

Quietly.
Patiently.
Along the edges of the old structure that once held you.
Season by season, they climb.
Not to tear anything down,
but to prepare you for the day
when you no longer need the scaffolding of what came before.

One day, the architecture that shaped you
will soften into memory,
and the foundation beneath your feet
will be the one you crafted yourself.
Root by root,
decision by decision,
tender shoot by tender shoot.

Some days the future feels like a distant horizon.
Other days it flickers so close
you could almost touch it.
But don’t be fooled by the quiet of the outer season.
This is when your inner roots take their deepest hold.
When the unseen work is done.
When your structure begins to strengthen from within.

Follow the sparks that warm you:
Joy, curiosity, love.
They are not small things,
they are the compass of becoming.

When you choose from the heart,
half the path builds itself beneath your feet.
Let your days be shaped by small, honest choices
that lean you gently toward the life you’re growing.
Leaf by leaf, your form emerges.

Apri City was built by people like you.
The ones who dared to think differently,
who dreamed loudly of what could be,
even when the world around them
was still organized around the logic of extraction and urgency.

It was built by people who did not resent the old world,
but who learned from it,
who stood on it,
and used its strength to rise.

And from where we stand now,
in 2125,
we can see clearly
what you could only feel in your bones:

You were living at a threshold moment in history.
The old world was beginning to fracture under its own weight,
and yet it was still sturdy enough
to give you something to lean against
while your new ways of being took form.

You weren’t waiting for collapse.
You were growing through it.

You didn’t need the old systems to disappear
in order to build what came next.
You needed only to follow the quiet pull
of what felt more alive.

Those early veins;
your choices,
your values,
your slow awakenings.
They became the roots of the world we now inhabit.

So hear this with the clarity of hindsight:

You are not late.
You are not lost.
You are not off your path.

You are living in the sacred season
where the world shifts beneath your feet
and the vine learns its own shape.
Patiently, steadily,
toward the architecture that has yet to rise.

Keep growing.
One day, this moment will make perfect sense.

From across time,
— Astrid (& Eira)*
